The Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program, IFP is an exceptional postgraduate opportunity offering individuals fully paid support for their Masters/PhD in any University in the world. The program initiated in 2001 and supported by Ford Foundation runs in 22 countries and territories worldwide. AHEAD is honored to administer this Ford Foundation- sponsored fellowship that provides opportunities for scholars who are also change agents committed to becoming leaders in their communities.

So far, IFP Uganda has granted 93 scholarships to uniquely qualified Ugandans, and they are pursuing their postgraduate studies in the UK, US, Australia and Uganda. 30 fellows are already back in the country infusing their well earned competencies in various development fields in Uganda.

AHEAD strongly supports the focus on talented individuals who have traditionally had limited access to higher education. Fellows are offered a fully paid graduate program as they earn their Masters or PhD degrees. The target for this scholarship is leaders; individuals working with marginalized communities, people who live and work outside Kampala, individuals working in the rural, conflict, and post conflict areas, and generally individuals working to uplift the lives of underserved communities. Other eligibility criteria include having relevant working experience of at least 3 years.

Each fellowship covers comprehensive Pre-Academic Training, full tuition, subsistence allowance, health insurance, travel and other related expenses.
